I.H.I.P.S. History
The school was founded in 2006 by a group of parents who were concerned with the standard of education available for their pre-school and infant grade children on Boracay Island. After considering their choices and investigating the feasibility of opening a school they decided to offer an International school teaching the British Curriculum.
In 2007 they hired a British Principle to oversee the smooth running of the school and to ensure that the standards were being met. Now the schools teachers are predominately Western with a support team of experienced Filipino teachers. The maximum number of students in a classroom is 12 ensuring that there are sufficient numbers to learn basic skills such as sharing and working together, whilst at the same time working independently under the guidance of the facilitators.
Teachers
The Island Home School employs only dedicated self-motivated team players who are highly educated and have years of teaching experience. It is our policy to encourage all our students to learn through self discovery in a safe and motivating environment which is fun and relevant.
Teaching Assistants
As well as our professional teachers, we have a dedicated team of teaching assistants that are an integral part to the team. Under the supervision of the qualified teacher their assistant reinforces the safe fun learning environment.

Education structure enrolment and Fees
The National Curriculum for <st1:country-regionw:ston>England
The National Curriculum for England is a broad and balanced curriculum applied in over 150 countries across the world. It is based on a structured and broad framework that outlines expected levels of achievement through all stages of a student's school life. In addition to development of specific skills and competencies, the curriculum emphasises thinking skills, enquiry, creativity, planning and other skills needed to meet the challenges of the future.
Since opening the school it has become apparent that it is necessary to occasionally place a student in a class other than the one that has been recommended by the British Governments guide lines. Therefore, each child applying for Infants one or above will be given an evaluation test prior to being accepted. This process costs 1000 pesos and will last between 30 – 45 minutes.
On successfully being accepted there is a registration fee 6000 pesos. (These fees are non refundable)
Annual fees may be paid in full at time of registration or prior to the start of the new term. (Late payment will occur an additional 5% and early payment in advance is discountable by 2%)
